KICKSTARTER REWARDS ARE COLLECTOR INVESTMENTS

You don't even have to like a particular Kickstarter project to find the rewards rewarding. You might want to focus on the rewards themselves. Especially, if they are LIMITED EDITION SIGNED pieces. Who knows, one day the project creator may become a famous artist, thus his or her art, especially some of the early works may shoot up in value. If they are Exclusive rewards to Kickstarter only, then you may not be able to get them from anywhere else, which makes them a bit more rare.

In another setting, like say a museum, certain rewards may demand high prices. But, how do you know what rewards to go after. That's the thing - you don't. It's like most art - if its ahead of its time, you have to guess and wait. History is full of art that once ridiculed is now a national treasure.Of course, the greatest value of donating to the project is the satisfaction of having helped someone achieve their dream. But, there are perks to one's efforts, and the rewards may just be the gift that keeps giving.

RAIN DANCER MONSTER

What happens when a monster is getting ready to do the rain dance and it is not neccesary to do so, and even detrimental to area crops? For those Trickster-dominant monsters, we have the "Don't Dance" Rain Non-Maker Monster. History books have stubbornly ignored their importance in the survival of tribes and their painstakingly nurtured crops.

Half Moonie Boxer Monster

One of the creatures from my monster pages, sheets that I just drew monsters on. When I title them, I use my own well of memories of imagery and literary elements. This one I drew in the mid 1990's, but just named it minutes ago - "Half Moonie Boxer," influenced by half moon shapes and the word "moonie." My first run in with the Moonies was when I was in Florida way back when - they would stand on the busy streets, like Sunset Blvd, and sell flowers from a basket. They wore 60's style garments and seemed very happy. This boxer is ready to fight and go ahead and try to break his nose - he don't have one! This original magic marker & pen drawing, "Half-Moonie," $195.

The Green fields of a Blue-collar dream

Those little seconds-long installations on a dream begun over twenty years ago is beginning to bear fruit. The rocky steps from the mill, where the call was heard to the opening exhibition of an international show, I knew if I kept with it, didn't give up, I would have a voice, that is directly related to its beginning, that like a seed, unfolds into a strong expression of itself. However simple it is to the human eye, it has a rich tapestry of archetypal patterns. "The world is your oyster," I say in each of these drawings.

Notification of grant committee by end of September?

Eager to hear the results of my first grant proposal, I looked forward as the end of September approached. Because I was supposed to be notified by then according to an email from the granting institution's clerk.

Verdicts in two other projects were postponed. Scrambling to make ends meet while all these projects that I met the deadlines on have delayed their decisions, is frustrating. Eventually, enough projects will be in the works so that something is always going on. Those will be the days.
